Salary: circa £75,000 to £98,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
Where: Birmingham/London office, in office 3 days per week, 2 form home.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading client-side organisation delivering a transformative rail programme. As Lead E&B Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe integration of earthing and bonding across all systems, playing a critical role in the overall electrical safety of the railway.

You will work across multidisciplinary teams and packages, driving consistency and ensuring all elements of the railway are effectively bonded and compliant. This is a delivery-focused role where you will lead through collaboration, influencing a wide network of contractors and consultants.

Essential requirements:

  • Strong experience in earthing and bonding on large infrastructure projects
  • Background in rail, power, T&D, or similar sectors
  • Experience in client-side or main contractor environments
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. Eurocodes)
  • Ability to lead and influence across matrix teams
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead earthing and bonding integration across the programme
  • Develop standards, specifications, and technical guidance
  • Ensure electrical safety through effective bonding strategies
  • Coordinate across civils, rail systems, and infrastructure packages
  • Oversee contractor delivery and ensure alignment with programme requirements

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering a complex, high-profile programme, shaping electrical safety strategy from the centre of the project.
