
Power & Distribution Supervisor
We are a multi-disciplined contractor with a service portfolio that covers track, trades, civils, OLE, signalling and telecoms along with trackside lighting and safety barrier fencing.
In this respect we are a forward-thinking business that has the ability to undertake large scale contract works delivering a variety of services such as structures, track drainage, earthworks and lineside infrastructure works under one umbrella.
We have established a network of offices across the whole of the UK where we pro-actively recruit from within the local community to fully support our clients on a National Basis.
We are currently looking for a P&D Supervisor on a long term rail project in the North West.
KEY TASKS
- Supervise and coordinate P&D works including installation of cable, switchgear, transformers, cable containment, earthing, and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with design specifications, drawings, and programme requirements
- Maintain compliance with health & safety legislation, Network Rail standards, and HSQE requirements
- Deliver toolbox talks, task briefings, permits.
- Monitor site progress and report to the Construction Manager
- Supervise subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring safe and efficient working practices
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily site diaries, permits, and progress reports
- Identify and resolve on-site issues proactively
- Ensure quality standards are met across all installation activities
- Provide daily progress reports, including updates on planned vs actual, and site performance
- Close calls – proactive approach to raising close calls.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Supervisor within P&D, rail electrification, or power infrastructure
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification
- OLEC 1 Qualification
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of permit systems, RAMS, and CDM regulations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
• Experience in rail substations or HV/LV distribution systems
• First Aid qualification
• Experience in live rail environments
• Good understanding of Network Rail standards and procedures (desirable)
• SSSTS or SMSTS supervisory qualification
• COSS
Salary range
- £350 - £500 per day
