A leading international rail consultancy and certification organisation is seeking a Project Manager / Global Systems Inspector to join its growing team in Montreal. Working across major metro, light rail, mainline and high-speed rail projects, you will support the delivery of independent verification, assessment and certification activities for clients throughout North America and internationally.

The Opportunity
As a Project Manager / Global Systems Inspector, you will lead independent assessment and verification activities while acting as a key interface between clients, engineering teams, contractors and delivery partners.
You will work across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through systems integration, testing, commissioning and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead certification, verification and assessment projects across major rail programmes.
- Manage client relationships and act as the primary technical interface for assigned projects.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary assessment teams and external stakeholders.
- Review design, systems integration, testing and commissioning activities.
- Oversee verification and validation (V&V) processes and documentation.
- Support safety assurance and risk management activities.
- Evaluate infrastructure, signalling, rolling stock, traction power and operational systems from a system-wide perspective.
- Prepare technical reports, assessment documentation and safety plans.
- Support commercial activities including proposals, tenders and business development initiatives.
- Contribute to the continued growth of rail certification and assurance services across North America.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the railway industry.
- Strong background in railway systems engineering, systems integration, safety assurance or project engineering.
- Experience leading complex rail projects or technical workstreams.
- Knowledge of signalling, rolling stock, infrastructure and rail operations.
- Familiarity with verification & validation (V&V), commissioning and system acceptance activities.
- Experience working with industry standards such as CENELEC, RISSB, CMREA or equivalent railway safety frameworks.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous project management experience is highly desirable.
- Fluency in both English and French is strongly preferred.
- Membership of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or eligibility to obtain registration would be advantageous.
