PTS Level Crossing Stewards

Essential criteria -

PTS is essential, AOD Level Crossing attendant is NOT required. Must have own mobile phone. Must know the phonetic alphabet.

Where –

North Wales, Ty Gwyn and Pen Uchaf

Start date –

Monday 27th April 2026 for up to 6 months

Shifts –

0800 – 1800, both midweek days and weekend days.

Rate –

£19ph midweek and £20ph weekends, Umbrella method

Job description –

• To remain at the crossing for whole shift, welfare cabin provided on site
• To remain in a position of safety when outside of the welfare cabin
• Liaising with the signaller
• Interacting with the public providing verbal instructions (and manual gestures), reminding all crossing users to read and follow the instructional signage at the level crossing, keep dogs on their lead, keep children close etc and when they can and cannot cross.
• You are responsible for following the instructions of the method of working to manage safety at level crossings
