Role Overview:
Due to continued project growth within their rail business, my client is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to commercially lead a portfolio of NEC rail infrastructure projects across Wales.

This role will involve managing two key programmes, including a circa £3m Access for All (AFA) Design & Build scheme involving civils, structures, and telecommunications works, alongside a long-term ticket validator and gate installation programme running through to 2027/2028.

The successful candidate will take ownership of all commercial activities across these schemes, ensuring projects are delivered successfully while managing risk, cost control, subcontractor management, and client relationships.

You will join a family-run contractor with a central commercial team supporting multiple infrastructure sectors including rail, civils, highways, and structures. The business offers flexibility, progression opportunities, and a collaborative working culture.

Key Responsibilities:
·Commercial management of NEC Option A / lump sum rail projects
·Manage subcontract procurement, accounts, and variations
·Prepare and manage CVRs, forecasts, and cost reporting
·Administer NEC contracts and manage commercial risk
·Support project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle
·Attend project and client meetings
·Carry out periodic site visits across Wales
·Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
·Support junior commercial staff where required

Essential Requirements:
·Strong NEC contract experience (Option A preferred)
·Experience working for a contractor within rail
·Experience managing lump sum or target cost projects
·Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
·Full UK driving licence

Desired Requirements:
·Experience on civils, structures, or station projects
·HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar
·Professional accreditation or working towards chartership

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing infrastructure contractor delivering long-term rail programmes across Wales with genuine progression opportunities and a flexible, people-focused culture.
