Quantity Surveyor - Utilities Infrastructure
Position: Quantity Surveyor - Utilities Infrastructure
Reference: HHQSDOR
Type: Permanent
Industry: Utilities
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (flexible for the right candidate + Lodging costs covered)
Location: Dorset, with travel across the wider region (Lodging considered)
Contract: Permanent (3 days on site/office min.)
You'll join the commercial team, working on live utilities framework contracts spanning feasibility through to construction.
Advance TRS is recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure contractor delivering a major electricity network framework across the South of England — a fixed-price NEC Option A framework covering feasibility, design, and construction, with around 90 live contracts ranging from £50k to £15m.
The business was recently carved out from a larger group under private equity ownership and is still shaping its processes — so you'll have real scope to make your mark early.
What you'll be doing:
- You'll handle day-to-day commercial management of NEC Option A contracts
- You'll manage CVRs, change, and subcontractor liaison
- You'll work site-facing as part of a hands-on commercial team
What you'll bring:
- Solid QS experience with main contractor exposure
- NEC literacy, with confidence around CVRs and compensation events
- A hands-on approach — used to managing supply chain directly rather than from a purely consultancy background
- A desire to progress towards chartership
Why you'll want to join
- You'll have autonomy and genuine input — the business is still shaping its processes, so you'll be recognised quickly
- You'll work within an inclusive, no-blame culture
- You'll be actively encouraged and supported towards chartership
- You'll have travel and hotel costs covered if commuting isn't practical, though local candidates are preferred
To apply, send your CV to Harry Harding at Advance TRS.
