Description:

EWI is currently supporting a major rail initiative and is seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Expert with a strong operator-side background in Asian metro systems.

This role is not suited to European-only O&M profiles. We are specifically looking for professionals whose operational experience aligns with Asian (Japanese-influenced) railway operating philosophy, safety culture, and service delivery models.

Key Experience Required

• Demonstrable O&M experience within a railway operating organisation, combined with consultancy or advisory services
• Operational experience limited to Asian rail systems, ideally:

Hong Kong

Singapore

Malaysia

Strong understanding of:

• High-frequency metro operations
• Operational readiness and transition to service
• Maintenance planning and asset management
• Safety, reliability, and performance-driven operations

Experience working in environments with discipline, governance, and operating principles comparable to Japanese railways

Highly Preferred Background

Former MTR Corporation (MTRC), Hong Kong experience is strongly preferred

Background in operator-led decision-making, rather than purely delivery or construction-led roles

Recent, hands-on involvement in rail operations or O&M consultancy assignments

Ability to work effectively with Japanese stakeholders and international project teams

Role Responsibilities

Provide operator-focused O&M advisory support to metro/ urban rail projects

Contribute practical, real-world insight based on live operational experience

Support planning, readiness, and optimisation of metro operations using Asian best practice

Salary Package:

The salary on offer depends on level of experience however it will be an Expat, Tax Free package with allowances for Cost of Living etc.
