
Rail Project Manager
Are you a Project Manager with a track record of delivering bridge repairs on the Network Rail infrastructure?

Location: Pickering, North Yorkshire
Rate: £400-£450 per day (Outside IR35)
Duration: 3-6 months
Our client requires a Project Manager to oversee specialist repair works of stone arch railway bridge on a heritage railway in North Yorkshire. As Project Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the works are delivered safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with Network Rail standards.
This is a hands-on site-based role, managing subcontractors and direct staff while ensuring safe
systems of work, competency management and plant controls are fully implemented and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee subcontractors and site staff carrying out repairs to a historic stone arch railway bridge.
- Ensure all site activities comply with Network Rail standards and procedures.
- Act as the senior site presence, supervising works and maintaining safe operations.
- Manage site access, workforce sign-in processes and competency checks.
- Ensure plant and equipment are operated by appropriately competent personnel.
- Support and improve internal systems relating to sentinel, track access and plant maintenance frameworks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering bridge repairs on the rail infrastructure.
- Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 rail contractor.
- Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards, processes and safety requirements.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) - essential.
- SMSTS - essential.
- Experience managing subcontractors and delivering works in operational rail environments.
