Rail Structural Expert (Stations) – Philippines

EWI is supporting a major international commuter rail programme and is seeking an experienced Structural Expert (Stations) to join the supervision team on a large-scale rail infrastructure project.

This is a senior technical position focused on the design review and construction supervision of railway stations and associated buildings, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple contract packages.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead the review, checking, and approval of detailed structural designs and contractor shop drawings
• Ensure designs and deliverables comply with relevant international and local standards (including concrete and steel codes)
• Review structural calculations, including hand calculations and outputs from software such as SAP2000 and STAAD
• Oversee day-to-day site supervision activities, including quality assurance, measurements, and technical compliance
• Review contractor method statements, work plans, and construction sequencing
• Assess contractor submissions, including variation orders, claims, excusable delay events, and value engineering proposals
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, E&M, track, and contract teams on station and substation structures
• Manage technical interfaces between multiple contract packages, identifying and resolving design gaps or clashes
• Participate in technical meetings, coordination sessions, and site walkthroughs to support timely and high-quality delivery
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive project and site records in line with contractual requirements

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering
• 15+ years’ experience in the design, detailing, and/or construction of railway stations and substations
• Strong background in major rail or metro infrastructure projects
• Experience working with international design standards (ACI, AISC, Eurocodes; local codes advantageous)
• Proven ability to work within large, multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong technical, coordination, and reporting skills

Salary Package:

The package on offer is dependent on experience but likely to be in the region of $7,000 to $11,000 per month Tax Free with allowances
