Rail Structural (Stations) Expert - Philippines

EWI is supporting the recruitment of a senior Structural Expert for one of the Philippines' most significant railway infrastructure programmes.

The Role

The Structural Expert will take a senior role in the design review and construction supervision of railway station and Mainline Traction Substation structures. You shall be working on behalf of the end client as part of an International team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead structural design review, detailing and checking of contractor shop drawings and designs.
• Review detailed engineering designs, construction plans, shop drawings and method statements.
• Review and verify structural calculations, including SAP2000 and STAAD outputs.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant NSCP, ACI and Eurocode requirements.
• Provide technical oversight of day-to-day construction supervision and quality assurance.
• Evaluate contractor submissions including claims, excusable delay events, variation orders and value engineering proposals.
• Manage technical interfaces between structural, architectural, MEPF, E&M, track and contract teams.
• Identify and resolve conflicting or missing designs across different contract packages.
• Support QA/QC and materials teams on structural matters.
• Participate in station meetings, technical discussions, site walkthroughs and interface coordination.

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering
• 15+ years' professional experience
• Strong experience in the design, detailing and/or construction of elevated or underground railway stations and substations
• Knowledge of NSCP, ACI 318 and AISC standards, with Eurocode knowledge considered advantageous
• Strong experience reviewing structural designs and contractor submissions
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary international project environment

Package

$11,000 per month tax free ($8,000 salary & $3,000 allowances)
