Role & Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for infrastructure and civil engineering projects

Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and other tender documentation to develop comprehensive pricing

Undertake quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor packages

Liaise with engineering, planning, commercial, and procurement teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project requirements

Assess risks, constraints, and opportunities and incorporate them into pricing strategies

Support the preparation and submission of tenders and bids, including value engineering options where appropriate

Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations

Maintain and update cost databases, benchmarks, and historical cost data

provide mentoring and guidance to junior estimators and contribute to estimating strategy and governance

Ensure compliance with company procedures, commercial standards, and project requirements

Essential Skills

Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline

Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator on infrastructure / civil engineering projects working in a contractor environment

Ideally strong experience within the water sector (desalination, water treatment, wastewater, pipelines, utilities, drainage, etc.)

Solid understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost drivers for large-scale infrastructure works

Proficiency in estimating software and MS Excel

Strong analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Desired Skills

Experience working on major projects and complex developments away from Infrastructure

Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced project environment

Salary range

  • £60,000 - £70,000 per year
