The opportunity

Advance TRS is working with a leading multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy to recruit a Senior Project Manager for its growing Industry & Infrastructure Facilities team in London.

Our client delivers complex projects across aviation, rail, energy, transmission and distribution, marine and data centres, bringing together project management, engineering, design and sustainability expertise.

This is an opportunity to lead technically challenging projects, broaden your sector experience and contribute to the growth of an established project management team.

The role

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary projects from inception through design, delivery, commissioning and handover.

Working closely with clients, engineers, designers, contractors and specialist consultants, you will establish clear delivery plans, coordinate technical interfaces and ensure projects are delivered safely, commercially and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initial definition through to commissioning and handover.
  • Managing scope, programme, budget, risk, quality and change.
  • Establishing effective project governance, reporting and controls.
  • Leading multidisciplinary design and delivery teams, coordinating technical interfaces and dependencies.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients, stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Managing consultant, contractor and supplier performance.
  • Supporting procurement and contract management activities.
  • Identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
  • Promoting high standards of health, safety, quality and sustainability.
  • Mentoring colleagues and contributing to the development of project management practices.
  • Supporting client development, bids and proposals.

About you

Our client is looking for an experienced project management professional with a strong background in project and design management, supported by experience leading multidisciplinary teams on complex schemes.

Experience in aviation, rail, energy, transmission and distribution, marine or data centres would be beneficial, but is not essential. You should have a genuine interest in working across these sectors and applying your expertise in different technical and client environments.

You will bring:

  • Project and design management experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, facilities or consultancy.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating technical interfaces.
  • Strong capability in scope, programme, cost, risk, quality and stakeholder management.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining project governance, reporting and controls.
  • Commercial awareness and familiarity with construction or consultancy contracts.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
  • A relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience.

Membership of a professional body such as APM, CIOB, CIBSE or ICE would be advantageous but is not essential.

What’s on offer?

  • The opportunity to lead complex projects across a varied infrastructure and facilities portfolio.
  • A combination of office, home and project-based working.
  • Collaboration with engineering, design, sustainability and technical specialists.
  • Opportunities to broaden your sector experience and develop your leadership skills.
  • A role within a growing team, with scope to contribute to its development and future direction.

Travel may be required depending on project needs.
