Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in NEC contracts and leadership?

Have you worked extensively with Network Rail and led junior commercial teams?

Location: Sidcup, Kent (Hybrid - 2-3 days in the office per week; occasional travel to Blackfriars)
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum DOE + car or car allowance of £6600

You will be joining the Rail Southern business unit, which delivers £30-£40m of work annually, primarily for Network Rail on the CP7 framework, covering reactive, emergency, and civils based rail works. The team also delivers lump sum projects for clients such as Southeastern Trains and Wandsworth Council.

My client seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor who can provide strong leadership to a predominantly junior commercial team while taking ownership of key projects and client relationships.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, your key responsibilities will include:
·Leading the preparation of accurate cost estimates and budgets and ensuring robust financial control from pre-construction to final account across Network Rail CP7 works and other rail projects
·Taking the lead on contract administration under NEC (Option C & E) and lump sum contracts, and managing key commercial negotiations
·Proactively identifying, managing, and mitigating commercial and procurement risks to keep projects on track
·Running and presenting CVRs for reactive, emergency, and civils based rail projects
·Acting as a primary commercial contact for Network Rail and other key clients such as Southeastern Trains and Wandsworth Council
·Leading, mentoring, and developing a predominantly junior commercial team
·Working collaboratively with project teams, clients, and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery
·Providing strong commercial leadership across a £30-£40m per annum Rail Southern business unit

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
·7+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor
·Significant experience working with Network Rail (essential)
·Strong experience with NEC contracts (Option C & E preferred)
·Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior commercial staff
·Background working for a Tier 1 contractor (strongly preferred)
·Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
·MRICS or CICES accreditation desirable
