Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Leeds

Summary

A leading international, multi-disciplined engineering and construction contractor with over 70 years of engineering excellence across the infrastructure sector is looking to hire an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their transportation division on the TransPennine Route Upgrade Project (TRU)

Work includes rail renewals & enhancements, bridge building, highways and emergency earthworks

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will;

- Encourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team
- Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
- Compose of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required
- Devise Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract
- Construct Cost Reports to issue to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
- Deal with administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
- Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
- Use cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements
- Deal with measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required

To be suitable for this Senior Quantity Surveyor Role you should have;

- A BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying (or equivalent qualification)
- Strong civil and/or rail background (essential) (ideally rail)
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor looking to step up.
- Registration with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
- Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement
- Strong communication within presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others
- Full driving licence & flexible with travel
- Hold full right to work in the UK with out sponsorship (essential)

Salary / Package

A competitive salary of Circa £65,000 - £70,000 plus package including;
