Technical Director – Rail

An expanding transportation business is seeking a Technical Director to support business growth and project development activities across the rail sector.

The position combines technical leadership with commercial and tendering responsibilities and will play a key role in shaping future project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical input into bids, tenders and proposals.
• Develop project estimates and pricing strategies.
• Support business development and client engagement activities.
• Review technical submissions and commercial assumptions.
• Coordinate engineering solutions across rail transportation projects.
• Provide technical leadership throughout bidding and project delivery phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related discipline (mandatory).
• 10–15 years' experience within rail engineering, project development or transportation consultancy.
• Strong background in cost estimation, tendering and bid management.
• Experience on rail, metro and High-Speed Rail projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Previous experience with contractors, consultancies, system suppliers or rail authorities.
• Ability to bridge technical and commercial functions.
