Brief Description
🔍 Technical Officer – Electrification & Plant
Location: Norwood
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £36299 + Inner London Allowance £2998 (IMC 4 Non Phase 2BC)
Shift Pattern: Days, Nights & Weekends (Safety-Critical Role)
Please note: Candidates must be computer literate and have previous experience using CAD software, preferably MicroStation, although experience with AutoCAD will also be considered.
Join Our Electrification & Plant Engineering Team
We're looking for a Technical Officer – Electrification & Plant to provide essential technical support to our Maintenance Engineering teams. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and a genuine interest in supporting safe and reliable electrification and plant systems ⚡🚆.
You'll play an important role in supporting engineering activities that help keep the railway powered, resilient, and operating safely.
About the role (External)
🌟 What You'll Do
- Work safely at all times in accordance with Safe Systems of Work, method statements, plans, and company procedures 🦺
- Assist in providing technical support across Electrification & Plant maintenance and engineering activities
- Support technical inspections, testing, investigations, and data analysis related to electrification and plant assets 🔍
- Help prepare method statements and work plans for both design and operational activities 📋
- Maintain accurate records and ensure systems and databases are kept up to date 💻
- Contribute to your own development and support the learning and development of others 🌱
✅ Key Skills & Experience
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team 👥
- Strong verbal and written communication skills 🗣️✍️
- Ability to hold and retain competencies relevant to the role, as required by business needs
- Ideally hold (or be working towards) NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent) in an engineering or leadership‑related subject 🎓
- Full driving licence and willingness to drive vehicles as required 🚗
