Job Description Stores Operative / Warehouse
Our nationwide client is seeking a reliable and committed Stores controller / Warehouse operative, to join their busy depot team, in the Canning town area. This role is essential to the smooth running of a large warehouse / organisation, that supports numerous mobile maintenance teams.
The position is day-based, Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3pm. After 3 months probation, the role will also involve some night shift work and working on rotating weekends. - Also after 3 months the hourly rate will be reviewed / increased depending on work.
Previous warehouse experience is essential.
The hourly pay rate: £14.80 PAYE plus holiday pay.
Duration – long term role, possibility to go permanent.
Start date – Looking for someone to start ASAP.
Key duties include:
• Unloading and recording inbound deliveries
• Updating stock control systems
• Receiving and collating equipment requests from the service team
• Operating forklifts – if you have a licence – not essential
• Performing general warehousing tasks
Skills
• Basic IT skills for updating in-house tracking systems
• Previous experience in stores or warehouse environments (essential)
• Physically fit to handle lifting parcels, with equipment available to assist
• Good customer service skills
• Reliability and commitment
• Forklift licence (preference for counterbalance forklift experience)
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work well within a team
• Good communication skills
• Time management and organisational skills
• Candidate must live within 1 hour commute, to the Canning town area.
Certifications & Standards
Valid forklift licence (counterbalance preferred)
Willingness to participate in pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and medical examination
