Role Overview
As a Project Controls Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure, transportation, defence, energy or capital programmes by establishing and maintaining integrated project controls across scope, schedule, cost, risk and change.
Working alongside project managers, commercial teams and client stakeholders, you will provide accurate performance reporting, governance and assurance, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring projects remain aligned with approved baselines throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and manage integrated project baselines covering scope, schedule, cost, risk and quality.
- Lead project controls activities across one or more major programmes or contracts, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of project data.
- Analyse project performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and emerging issues to support effective decision-making.
- Integrate schedule, cost, risk and performance information to provide a comprehensive view of project health.
- Review contractor and supplier programme submissions, validating progress, forecasts and reporting information.
- Coordinate and support project risk management activities, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, assessed and mitigated.
- Manage project change control processes, ensuring all changes are assessed, governed and incorporated into approved baselines.
- Coordinate periodic reporting cycles, producing high-quality reports and dashboards for senior leadership and clients.
- Ensure compliance with Project Management Office (PMO) standards, governance processes and project controls procedures.
- Provide assurance of project controls data, maintaining consistency, accuracy and auditability across the programme.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by embedding lessons learned and enhancing project controls processes and systems.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and line management support to junior Project Controls professionals where required.
- Foster a collaborative culture focused on delivery excellence, continuous improvement and high-quality project outcomes.

Essential Experience
- Experience delivering Project Controls across major infrastructure, engineering or capital programmes.
- Strong knowledge of one or more core Project Controls disciplines, including:
- Planning & Scheduling
- Cost Management
- Risk Management
- Change Control
- Performance Reporting
• Experience establishing and maintaining integrated project baselines.
• Experience using industry-standard Project Controls tools such as Primavera P6, Prism, CEMAR, Power BI or equivalent.
- Experience facilitating project reviews, governance meetings and performance reporting with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting project investment decisions and governance forums.
- Good understanding of project and commercial management principles.
