Role Summary 
This is a hands-on, site-based engineering role working physically on trains and in rail environments. The role requires regular travel to live rail sites across the UK and physical installation and maintenance work on rolling stock. 
We are looking for an Engineer to join our Site Team, carrying out hands-on installation, commissioning, and maintenance work directly on trains predominantly out of our Derby production facility with occasional nationwide visits. 
This is a practical, physically active role involving regular work on rolling stock, in depots, sidings, and other rail environments. You will be installing, commissioning, and maintaining advanced onboard systems including machine-vision cameras, laser measurement systems, thermal sensors, embedded Linux devices, IP networking, and GPS/4G/5G equipment. 
The role requires confidence working in operational rail environments, secure or restricted sites, and following strict safety procedures. Previous rail industry experience is strongly preferred. 
Responsibilities:

Fire Extinguisher PPM Engineer Summary Working under the direction of the Duty Manager or Team Leader, the Fire Extinguisher PPM Engineer, is responsible for carrying out servicing, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive servicing on portable firefighting equipment, including fire extinguishers and fire blankets, primarily across Transport for London (TfL) premises.
