Cannon Training add courses

20 Oct 2004

With the Railway Industry moving into a new phase, Cannon Training is running an increasingly wider variety of courses, which enables them to cover virtually any railway discipline.

Cannon Training has a 7000 sq ft training centre with in-house points, barrier and SMTH room together with two new executive training suites above, taking the total of training rooms to 10. The school also owns two acres of land opposite which already incorporate on/off tracking points for machine/crane controller courses, all components necessary to carry out Track Induction courses and 3rd Rail equipment which will enable us to undertake strapping courses.

Cannon Training is an approved centre to run London Underground (LUL) courses and is at present running the Safety Induction Entry Permit courses with other LUL training to be undertaken in the near future.

Martin Cannon formed Cannon Training, back in 1997 and seven years on, is going from strength to strength, now employing 10 full-time trainers/assessors, mixing youth with experience. Cannon Training enjoys an enviable reputation for being a first class training school, with all trainers fully mobile and prepared to travel anywhere in the country.  An ISO 9001 qualified training centre, Cannon Training now cover virtually all courses required by the railway including small plant training and are working closely with Network Rail in developing the new AC/DC Electrified Line and Permanent Way courses which will be run from this Centre.
