Child’s Play

19 Aug 2005

Serco Docklands, which operates Docklands Light Railway, has announced a week of free summer workshops for local children which include photography, street dance, music, watersports and theatre.

Every workshop is run by a local organisation which specialises in the subject. Children receive free tickets to travel on DLR.

Says DLR chief, Neil McLean, “The DLR runs through some of the most diverse, vibrant and interesting neighbourhoods in London and we are passionate about the area. These workshops are an opportunity for us to give something to local children, to help them learn new skills, socialise with other children and enjoy their summer holiday.”

The workshops are being advertised on trains and stations and in flyers distributed via local schools, community centres and libraries. Parents must sign and return the forms for their children and they will receive confirmation details and train tickets. These workshops are a new addition to Serco Docklands’ corporate responsibility program.
