Communication is contract key for IPS

A £9.5m contract to install communications equipment at 74 London Underground stations has been given to Surrey-based Installation Project Services (IPS).The work will involve new fibre optic transmission systems and digital video recording equipment on the Jubilee, Piccadilly and Northern lines over a five year period. The contract has been awarded by Enhance Communications on behalf of Tube Lines.
“We felt that IPS had the installation expertise in this sector to complement Enhance’s own in house skills and we feel they will play an integral role in the successful delivery of this contract,” said Steve Dalton, general manager of Enhance partners Telent’s Metro division.
