Docklands Signalling Contract for Balfour Beatty

A £1.4m contract to supply the Docklands Light Railway with new signalling has been won by Balfour Beatty.The work will involve design, installation, testing and commissioning of signalling equipment on sidings and a level crossing at the DLR’s Beckton depot. There will be 11 signals, trackside equipment, trailable points and points heating, plus a programmable logic controller.
Simon Stockwell, general manager for Balfour Beatty Rail Signalling, said: “This project on the DLR will enable us to demonstrate our skills to another new client.”
