Docklands Signalling Contract for Balfour Beatty

03 Feb 2006

A £1.4m contract to supply the Docklands Light Railway with new signalling has been won by Balfour Beatty.

The work will involve design, installation, testing and commissioning of signalling equipment on sidings and a level crossing at the DLR’s Beckton depot. There will be 11 signals, trackside equipment, trailable points and points heating, plus a programmable logic controller.

Simon Stockwell, general manager for Balfour Beatty Rail Signalling, said: “This project on the DLR will enable us to demonstrate our skills to another new client.”
