Hoppers On Line
23 May 2005
Freightliner Heavy Haul has taken delivery of the first of its 75 new hopper wagons.
The £4 million investment in new-build bogie hopper wagons boosts the freight haulier’s range of services on offer to the aggregate industry. The new wagon fleet takes forward the success of its bogie box wagons introduced last year.
“Heavy Haul’s entry into this niche market in the last 12 months has brought the aggregate industry unparalleled service quality and many customers are benefiting from our fresh approach,” said Adam Cunliffe, managing director of FHH.
“It’s essential we continue to invest in our assets to secure new contracts. This new investment means the supply benefits of using Heavy Haul can be shared wider and recognises that aggregates will play a bigger part in our business portfolio.”
The wagons will be painted in FHH’s livery and will also, for the first time, include the company’s web address. The first W H Davis manufactured wagons will be in operation on the UK’s network soon, with the remaining Greenbrier wagons entering service by September 2005.
