Interfleet continues extensive infrastructure recruitment drive

19 Aug 2013

International rail consultancy Interfleet Technology is continuing its significant recruitment drive with a raft of eight new hires to its infrastructure service-area across two offices, in response to strong ongoing client demand.

Five new employees have started with the Electrification & Plant (E&P) team to meet the demand of Network Rail’s National Electrification Project. This expansion has successfully moved the team from a start-up phase to an established consolidated position in less than a year.

Joining the E&P team in Derby as Principal Consultant in the Plant sector is Michael Ward. With a proven track record delivering projects during a career spanning positions at Jacobs UK Ltd, Network Rail, WS Atkins Rail Limited and Halcrow Group Ltd, Michael brings to the role a wealth of experience across all sectors of engineering.

Alongside Michael, appointed to the role of Senior CAD Technician is Gillian Elsey. With over 18 years’ experience working with companies such as Amoco Petroleum (Canada), Atkins Rail and Network Rail, Gillian possesses a key understanding of Microstation and AutoCAD and a vast knowledge of overhead Line Equipment Allocation Design.

Joining Gillian and Michael at the Derby E&P team are two OLE Design Engineers. Vimalkhumar Giri started his career as a graduate engineer with Balfour Beatty Rail Projects. During his time in the role, Vimalkhumar also worked as an assistant OLE Engineer, a role which provided hands-on experience of a range of key areas from the production of schematic diagrams to planning and monitoring design and construction activities. Alongside Vimalkhumar, Najee Embogama joins Interfleet from Linbrooke Services Ltd. Najee’s experience includes electrical and electronic engineering, analytical and diagnostic skills and designing.

The youngest recruit to the E&P team is Leah Houldsworth. Leah joins the Derby office as a Junior CAD Technician.

The Track team, based out of Interfleet’s Manchester office has also welcomed three new recruits. David Rimmer has recently joined the Track team in the position of Consultant. David brings seven years of solid track engineering experience to the role having delivered projects on the UK rail network, London Underground and internationally. His most recent commission, whilst working at AECOM, was the delivery of the route alignment for the Western branch of High Speed 2, between Birmingham and Manchester.

Joining David as a Consultant is Dean Callaway. Dean arrives at Interfleet from AECOM, where he has recently been involved in a number of high profile projects including Riyadh Metro, introduction of the Class 350 and the National Level Crossing Programme. Dean is also a graduate in Law and his strengths in this area will be used to support the team with contractual and commercial requirements.

The Manchester team also welcomes Track Technician, Thomas Ashcroft. A college graduate who has recently completed a track engineering apprenticeship programme where he gained valuable railway knowledge which includes survey-related techniques, Thomas’ main role will be to support the survey function in a predominately site-based role.

With offices in more than 20 countries across the world and over 600 staff, Interfleet Technology consultants have the knowledge, strategic know-how and technical experience to advise on any type of rail project. As an international market leader, Interfleet Technology continues to attract dedicated, high-calibre recruits to its team, whether new graduates or highly-experienced professionals with proven track records.
