Martin returns to Crossrail

Martin Buck has been appointed Crossrail's Commercial Director.
Mr Buck who was previously on secondment to Crossrail as Commercial Director from 2005 to 2008 starts his new role this month. Martin will be responsible for Crossrail's commercial strategies and will lead negotiations of all future major Crossrail commercial contracts.

Crossrail also confirmed that Dr Graham Plant, Programme Director, and Dr Phil Bennett, Technology Director, would be leaving the project in the summer. Graham has played a key role in moving the Crossrail project forward and successfully secured the appointment of Crossrail's Programme Partner and Project Delivery Partner as well as the Design Framework Agreements.
He will leave the project in August when Andrew Mitchell, the current Major Programme Director with Network Rail's Thameslink Programme joins Crossrail as Programme Director. Dr Plant will continue to contribute to the project through his support of the work of several of the programme's expert panels.
Dr Bennett joined Crossrail in 2007 and set up Crossrail's security systems, systems assurance and integration and IT department. With this work now successfully completed Dr Bennett is leaving the project on 31 July.
