New Developments for Intertrain

23 Mar 2006

Intertrain (UK) Ltd has come a long way since it was first established in 1997 as a training company based in York.

Shortly after setting up the company, Intertrain opened a new training location in Doncaster and over the last few years has continued to expand. It is now an established railway training and assessment provider in the East Midlands and North East of England.

Courses and Services

Intertrain is quickly becoming a ‘one stop shop’ for all your training requirements. As well as offering a wide range of established courses, including railway safety training and assessments, technical training, plant / small tools training and health and safety training, Intertrain can also adapt and tailor courses to fit in with client’s specific development requirements.

With the possibility of NVQ’s becoming a requirement within the rail industry, Intertrain recognise the importance of staying at the forefront of the market and will be in a position to offer NVQ Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Railway Engineering (Permanent Way Maintenance and Renewals) from Summer 2006.

Another example of reacting to industry demand is that Intertrain are one of the first training providers to offer Remote Control Triple Wacker training.
As well as providing training, Intertrain can supply a range of consultancy and railway professional services including audit preparation and competency management monitoring for your training and assessment requirements.

New Training Venues

Having listened and reacted to client demands, Intertrain are now committed to not only expanding their training portfolio but also their geographical coverage which includes Birmingham, Chesterfield, Derby, Doncaster, North London, Loughborough, Manchester, Peterborough, Stoke-on-Trent, Tamworth and York.

Intertrain’s newly opened training venue in Chesterfield comes complete with a large depot and sidings which enables training in a realistic and practical environment. As well as technical and plant / small tools training being carried out, Chesterfield is an ideal location for all Machine / Crane Controller / Attachments type training that is now trained under the Sentinel scheme.
Training can also be provided at client or other mutually agreed premises upon request.

Excellence through Commitment

Keith Jessop, Managing Director of Intertrain (UK) Ltd said “We are not content with just meeting client expectations, we go that extra mile to exceed them ensuring excellent delivery and support every time.”

One key factor contributing to Intertrain’s success is that they pride themselves in their dedicated approach to training, and continually strive to ensure that a ‘safety matters’ culture is implemented and maintained.

Another success factor is that Intertrain have a team of experienced, professional and approachable trainers and assessors who have a wealth of experience across all aspects of the rail industry.
