06 Sep 2005
Serco, operators of London’s Docklands Light Railway (DLR), is celebrating yet another accolade at the National Rail Awards. The company received the Outstanding Achievement award at September’s presentation ceremony in London – the sixth straight year it has been honoured at the event.
Judges highlighted Serco’s successful running of services during the World Travel Market last November where it “demonstrated in a single day that it knows how to run an efficient railway, reaching new heights in passenger numbers and at the same time delivering record performance.”
Neil McLean, Managing Director at Serco Docklands said, “This award reflects the hard work and devotion of all our staff in making the DLR one of the most admired railways in the country.”
Serco’s previous wins at the National Rail Awards include Best Light Rail / Metro in 2000, and Best Operator in 2001 and 2002.
