South West Trains Predict End to Compensation

South West Trains Predict End to Compensation

22 Sep 2005

An increase in the punctuality of South West Trains’ services has led to the company to predict an imminent end to compensation for season tickets.

Performance levels have regularly risen past the 90% mark and South West Trains now anticipates they are about to move permanently beyond the compensation threshold for suburban services, with the moving annual average 89.5%.

Should this happen passengers will no longer receive a 5% discount on renewal of their season ticket.

South West Trains’ Chairman and Managing Director Graham Eccles said: “When we were performing badly it was only right that we should compensate our passengers, and now we are giving them what they want – a punctual, reliable train service.”
