What will I be doing?
As an Account Manager focusing on the delivery and development of our rail construction and civils specialisms, you will work with the Senior Management team to achieve the strategic target of 5 different company services being delivered to each of our clients ensuring RSS Infrastructure is an embedded part of the client’s supply chain. This is achieved through programmes of research and intelligence gathering, the interpretation and communication of data and the preparation and implementation of appropriate action plans and meeting with the clients across various levels within the organisation in order to promote the services provided. On a day to day basis your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Working with senior management to build the business unit business plans.
- Research to understand the business and product drivers of the sector, customer and opportunities.
- Understand current macroeconomic conditions and market trends to ensure that key risks and opportunities are identified
- Maintaining an accurate pipeline of work to ensure accurate forecasting of business volume for the Senior Management Team.
- Where appropriate, preparing and submitting customer selectivity checklists and where appropriate, bid or no bid papers for presentation to the Senior Management Team.
- Managing or contributing to the preparation of PQQ & tender documents.
- Providing advice and support to customers to ensure that they receive the most appropriate service offering for their needs
- Conducting business reviews to understand client drivers, competitors, growth potential, business risks.
- Engaging with sectors and customers to anticipate potential business opportunities and implementing actions to position the business with differentiated advantage
- Analysing the customer base across the sector to establish a common approach to retention & growth.
- Ensuring the maintenance and updating of sector and customer account plans.
- Delivering targeted sales growth within sector/customers.
- Ensuring that all customers have signed commercial contracts/terms of business in place.
- Ensuring that all documentation is professionally maintained/delivered and stored in compliance with company policy.
- Preparing programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand promotion that will contribute to the achievement of the business’s objectives
- Reviewing, collating and reporting on spend and penetration levels by site and customer, identifying any underperformance against the agreed SLA and address such matters with the operational team.
- Meeting with nominated client representatives to report and present management information and project progress.
- Personally visit ‘key’ locations to review performance.
- Carry out additional site visits as required on an ad-hoc basis to address any issues.
- To communicate/escalate any issues of immediate concern to appropriate senior Management.
- Ensuring that everyone involved in Customer delivery is fully aware of the commercial terms and SLA for each Client.
- Working with operation teams to ensure that the service delivery meets the expected SLA and challenges and successes are captured and managed.
What experience would we like you to have?
In order to be selected for interview for this role, it is essential that applications demonstrate previous experience in the development and management of relationships within the rail construction or civils industry in either Account Management or Sales and delivering high standards of customer service through building long term sustainable business relationships. Previous knowledge of the Railway and Construction industry and a full driving licence is essential.
