Mane Rail are currently seeking an Engineering Standards and Audit Manager on behalf of one of our clients.
Reporting to the Head of Traction and Rolling Stock (T&RS) Engineering you will be expected to develop and manage the Traction and Rolling Stock Engineering audit procedure and plan.
This role would suit ex-military personnel with rail/rolling stock experience, however candidates from all backgrounds will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Undertake audits in accordance with the schedule which will include: supplier audits, product audits, facility audits and train exam audits.
*Develop and manage the Traction and Rolling Stock Safety Critical Supplier Approval Process.
*Verify that maintenance contractors and component suppliers are providing material and engineering services appropriately.
*Thorough surveillance, interview, site visit and audit verification that the companies engineering standards and statutory legislation is applied.
*Identify and develop changes to specifications, standards and work instructions.
*Ensure that suppliers of safety critical products and services are audited in line with company and industry standards.
*Assist the Materials Manager and Group Procurement in identifying and approving suppliers and manage audit process to ensure continued compliance.
*Develop an annual audit plan and review the output of the audit process to develop a risk-based approach to future audit plans.
*Compile management reports regarding audits.
*Undertake regular review of the audit policy.
*Assist other managers with the close out of all audit findings.
*Ensure that audit policy and procedure is in line with best practise.
*This role will require travel to other sites and supplier facilities, which may include international travel.
*You will be required to assess maintenance activities on, under and around locomotives, wagons
To be considered for this role you must have the following Skills and Qualifications:
*Minimum of HNC (or equivalent) in either electrical or mechanical engineering.
*LRQA Lead Assessor qualification.
*Minimum of 10 years engineering experience.
*Minimum 5 years audit and management experience.
