This role is a long-term contract position which falls under IR35 regulation. We are not able to negotiate this issue. The successful candidate will be paid on a PAYE basis, and earn a very good day rate.

Samuel Knight are currently recruiting for a prestigious client, who are delivering the UK mega infrastructure project; High Speed 2 (HS2).

We are currently seeking a Cost & Change analyst to join the programme of works. This is a role that is suitable for graduates, or candidates with 1-3 years experience in project controls.

The role will require a candidate to understand change management & analyse cause and effect within a major project. Using your analysis, the successful candidate will make recommendations and propose resolutions.

The daily accountabilities of the role:

• Analyse the outputs of changes proposed, and the subsequent effect on cost models.
• Support accurate reporting, benchmarking and analysis of HS2 infrastructure cost.
• Ensure the information you receive is included in the correct change & cost systems.
• Draw on industry best practice in the development and maintenance of HS2 cost systems
• Provide support to the development of programme wide models
• Provide subject matter expertise to understand the impact of proposed changes

The required knowledge and skills of this role are:

• Understanding cost drivers that define a project and have the ability to convert engineering data into meaningful cost projections
• Basic Quantity Surveying (QS) skills , ideally from a construction perspective.
• An ability to analyse data and present into relevant metrics
