The role of Risk Analyst will be to carry out Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for both schedule and cost to support all aspects of the Programme Commissioning Stages (1-5) and support functions including Commercial, Finance, Cost and Planning.
The Risk Analyst will support the Head of Risk Management and Risk Managers at both Programme and project levels and take ownership of schedule and cost risk analysis.
The Risk Analyst will produce reports and present the output of Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis and the impacts on specific Programme Commissioning Stages (1-5).
Accountabilities:
- Quantitatively analyse the risk exposure of threats, opportunities and issues that could affect the Programme Commissioning Stages (1-5).
- Check that risks are regularly reviewed by their owners and that risk information held on ARM is accurate and up to date, including inputting of data as required.
- Quantitatively model identified cost and schedule risks ensuring that Programme quantitative risk models are robust and auditable.
- Produce quantitative cost analysis of the financial risk exposure to the Programme Commissioning Stages (1-5) based on the outputs of facilitated workshops.
- Produce quantitative schedule scenarios for risk exposure to the Programme Commissioning Stages (1-5) based on the outputs of facilitated workshops.
- Produce an integrated assessment of both cost and schedule ensuring the link between both has been reliably assessed.
- Work with the Head of Risk Management, Risk Managers, Project Managers, Cost Managers and Commercial Managers to carry out cost and schedule analysis as and when required.
- Coordinate, facilitate and provide support to Industry Partners and PDTs around the input of cost and schedule risk.
- Actively promote the awareness and application of risk management across the organisation, helping to establish a pro-active risk management culture throughout the Programme.
Specification:
- Numerate qualification to degree level, or equivalent training and experience.
- Risk management experience in a large engineering construction project.
- A good understanding of Cost Estimating and Project Planning techniques.
- Experience and practical knowledge of Project Risk Management and Quantitative Risk Assessment techniques.
- Facilitation experience and good understanding of facilitation techniques.
- Experience of conducting Schedule and Cost Risk Assessment
- Ability to produce risk models in @Risk and Primavera Risk Analysis (Pertmaster)
- Experience with Active Risk Manager (ARM) or similar risk database.
- Ability to implement risk management processes and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Experience in the use of computer software products (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Access).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
