DC Electrification Apprentices
Cleshar are looking to recruit up to 12 DC Electrification Apprentices
Location: Ashford, Kent
Due to our rapid expansion, Cleshar are able to offer a great position for DC Electrification apprentices working specifically on conductor rail and traction power cabling to join our growing team based in Ashford. You will be working alongside our dynamic and dedicated DC Electrification Team and you will have the ability to develop your career.
This is an opportunity for a proactive person who has an interest in hands on installation of electrification equipment.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Project Management Apprentice you will…
• Adjusting, replacing and installing conductor rails
• Installation of insulator pots
• Drilling and tapping of rails
• Installation of cables
• Fabrication and jointing of cables
• Installation of Hook Switches
• Installation of Track Disconnectors
• Interpret drawings
• To champion a “team spirit” that supports the company values and encourages professionalism
• To complete a level 3 NVQ programme supported by Apprenticeship Connect. To complete homework tasks set by the college and attend tutor learning days as necessary.

Technical Competency Skills…
• Ability to work well in a team, with all members of the company and alone
• To be professional and present a positive image at all times
• Fulfil time keeping and attendance expectations
• Confident in presenting ideas
• Possess good interpersonal skills
• Ability to liaise with all levels of the business
Qualifications and Certifications
Desirable
• Minimum GCSE English C grade or equivalent (Good verbal and written communication skills)
• Minimum GCSE Maths C grade or equivalent (Good numeracy skills)
Soft Skills
You will…
• Have good interpersonal communication (verbal, written and listening) skills, that will support the delivery of your duties and able to clearly explain tasks and inspire others with varying backgrounds
• Have high standards of attention to detail in all aspects of your work
• Show initiative and know when to escalate issues for Supervisor/ Management support.
• Be a team player with regards to sharing information, helping to resolve a problem, working towards common goals, properly dividing tasks between team members, etc.
• Have the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines

• Show responsible and professional care when in possession of your PPE, plant, tools, vehicles and any other items of equipment that you are required to use in the course of carrying out your duties.
