Linbrooke Design Services department offers the capability to provide a comprehensive concept to commissioning solution encapsulating scheme development, detailed signalling design and consultancy. Our IRSE licensed engineers have knowledge and experience across a wide range of interlocking systems, axle counter products and level crossing equipment. We also offer a signalling design review, independent verification, and validation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide and undertake appropriate signalling design dependant on capability to signalling and other railway projects
- Provide basic engineering skills and technical knowledge of railway signalling, within an environment of high quality and timelines
- Responsible for basic signalling design input and draft signalling calculations to multidisciplinary design teams on small to medium sized projects
- Work content includes: CAD drawing; mentored design of signalling wiring layouts, power calculations and other (i.e. breaking distance) spreadsheet work; mentored location and REB design; generation and evaluation of signalling options and staging; circuit analysis; assistance to technical report writing; interfacing with other disciplines and project administration
- Assist with risk assessments and analysis using appropriate tools and methods required
- Ability to plan and manage the work of self within the defined scope of a small task or activity
- Responsible for own activities to agreed timescales
- Working within railway project teams as part of the signalling design team, working with other signalling professionals and occasionally interfacing with other railway disciplines on a variety of signalling and multidisciplinary railway projects
- Provide limited design office cover for commissioning activities as required
