Rowe Hankins Ltd. specialise in innovative train borne and wayside products for the world’s railways. We work closely with rolling stock manufacturers, fleet operators, track owners and infrastructure contractors for Light and Heavy Rail Vehicle projects.
About the Role:
The objective of the field-based Business Development Manager role is to generate, identify and capitalise on opportunities to develop new business primarily within the UK Rail sector.
It is expected that you will travel within the UK and abroad to visit customers and prospects.
The role is field based with attendance at the Main Office Bury, Manchester and accountable to the Head of Sales and Marketing. We offer the right candidate a competitive salary
Main responsibilities, but not limited to:
• Generating, identifying and capitalising on opportunities to develop new business primarily within the UK Rail sector.
• Prepare reports daily, weekly or monthly, communicating bookings and billings for the internal team as well as those reports required by the external teams, auditors, board meetings and the Head of Sales and Marketing.
• Prepare and deliver high quality, clear and concise presentations, ensuring immediate understanding of the subject matter.
• Establish professional and progressive relationships with clients and colleagues.
Logistics
• Ensure accurate recording of all pre-planned activities due, e.g., contract renewals, board reports, to ensure all are aware of impending deadlines and work required.
• Respond in a timely manner to all enquiries and work requests.
• Meet agreed levels of performance and work to achieve Key Result Area’s.
Communication
• Communicate verbally or in writing with customers/ suppliers/ visitors/ prospects.
• Understand customer demands and expectations in line with the ethos of high standards of customer satisfaction.
• Lead team meetings and events as and when required.
• Build strong relationships with all departments within Rowe Hankins Ltd to ensure a good understanding of all relevant processes.
• Influence and support all departments as necessary to achieve required outcomes.
Teamwork
• Work closely with the Sales team to increase sales performance.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers and clients.
• Ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner and clients/colleagues are kept informed of progress.
The right Candidate will have:
• A proven track record in sales delivery within the Rail Sector.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with experience in data collation and report writing.
• Financial and Commercial understanding.
• Passion for service delivery.
