Salary: £50K +bonus, either company car OR £5.5K car allowance per year

Here at Syntech Recruitment, we are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Business Development Manager to join our client's well established Infrastructure Services Company.
About the role:
This role secures new business from prospective or existing customers within our chosen sectors in the form of new signed contracts for the supply of our services, generating prospective revenue streams in line with corporate and personal goals. To achieve this, the role develops and manages prospective and existing customer relationships, obtains opportunities to quote or formally bid for services and closes opportunities as wins.
This role is a catalyst for revenue and profit generating activities within the business. The Business Development Manager creates and closes the opportunities that eventually generate service orders for others to operate and deliver on. Revenue and profitability follow so effective Business Development Managers can have a positive impact on company profitability and corresponding personal salary and bonus levels.
Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
Securing new business from prospective or existing customers
The company will make you aware of its market sectors and target list of companies
- Proactively and consistently strive to identify and obtain new business opportunities
- Identify prospective customers
- Develop and manage prospective customer relationships
- Identify, progress and convert sales leads
- Negotiate and agree rates and other terms and conditions
- Collaborate with the bid team when formal bids are required by prospective customers
- Secure written agreement to terms and conditions * Handover contracts won to delivery teams
- Take part in forecasting exercises to help predict your future wins and revenue streams
- Meet or exceed agreed targets
Develop and manage prospective and existing customer relationships
- Ensure that prospective and existing customers are treated appropriately, consistent with our values, programmes, policies and procedures.
- Record and maintain accurate data on your prospective and existing customers along with your relevant communications with them.
- Develop a knowledge of market rates and conditions within the company's workforce skillset in order to consult with customers on charge
- Have regular conversations using a variety of channels, maintaining an awareness of our customers' challenges.
- Develop and communicate prospective solutions with customers.
- When required, renew existing contracts on expiry.
- Create 'up sell' and 'cross sell' new opportunities within existing customers.
- Build strong and lasting business relationships
General
- Liaise with Marketing and Communications and the bid team to ensure appropriate materials are used in the business development process and to exchange business intelligence
- Report on your progress within company requirements
- Collaborate with your colleagues as appropriate within internal forums or meetings
*Mobile: This role is mobile and so some of the main responsibilities could be carried out at our own locations, customer locations or in other locations e.g. our clients works sites. You will have a car allowance, to allow you to fulfil your mobile obligations. When visiting customer locations, you will be expected to follow the customer's local health and safety procedures and site rules and may need to go through their induction.
Business Development Manager Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English Level 3 or equivalent achievement
- Appropriate verbal and written communication skills ICT literate with accurate keyboard skills
- Previous sale/business development experience Previous employment business experience
- Customer Knowledge - able to identify opportunities and execute customised strategies
- Workforce relations - Understands the product and service well
- Responsiveness - Self-motivated enacious and resilient.
- Ambitious, driven and determined to achieve targets and objectives
- Communications - confident and persuasive, questioning and listening skills.
- Teamwork - Shares information with others
- Leadership - Puts the customer first, clearly cascades requirements.

- A sales qualification Membership of a relevant professional body
