What will I be doing?

You will lead and develop the RSS Infrastructure Account Management function to ensure that contractual framework opportunities are maximised across multiple divisions ensuring that the company is an embedded part of the clients supply chain. Working closely with the Senior Management teams and heads of departments your focus will be on identifying new target customers and converting opportunities into a sustainable pipeline of work. This will be achieved through research and intelligence gathering, action planning and meeting with clients across various levels within the organisation in order to promote RSS Infrastructure’s range of services.

Your duties will include:

  • Presenting pipeline opportunities to the board of directors on a monthly basis
  • Working with senior management to build the business unit business plans
  • Research to understand the business and product drivers of each division, customer and opportunities
  • Maintaining an accurate pipeline of work to ensure accurate forecasting of business volume.
  • Preparing and submitting customer selectivity checklists, bid or no bid papers for presentation to the SMT
  • Providing advice and support to customers to ensure that they receive the most appropriate service offering for their needs
  • Leading business reviews to understand client drivers, competitors, growth potential, business risks.
  • Analysing RSS Infrastructure’s customer base across the sector to establish a common approach to retention & growth
  • Ensuring the maintenance and updating of sector and customer account plans
  • Delivering targeted sales growth within sector/customers
  • Ensuring that all customers have signed commercial contracts/terms of business in place
  • Prepare programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand promotion that will contribute to the achievement of the business’s objectives
  • Reviewing, collating and reporting on spend and penetration levels by site and customer, identifying any underperformance against the agreed SLA and addressing such matters with the operational team
  • Meeting with nominated client representatives to report and present management information and project progress
  • Ensuring any issues of immediate concern are escalated to the Board.
  • Ensuring that everyone involved in Customer delivery is fully aware of the commercial terms and SLA for each Client.
  • Working with operational teams to ensure that our service delivery meets the expected SLA and challenges and successes are captured and managed.
  • Recruiting, managing and developing a team of Account Managers.

What experience would we like you to have?

The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge and experience of the Railway and Construction industry and have worked at a senior level leading, managing and developing customer relationships. The ability to demonstrate considerable previous experience in account management and / or sales is essential and knowledge and experience of the tendering process would be advantageous.

It is essential to hold a full driving licence as the ability to attend site and client visits is essential.
