An exciting opportunity has arisen for Project Buyer based in either York or Derby. The Project Buyer will report directly to the Regional Procurement Manager.

Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for various sourcing activities including materials and sub-contractors, they will work cross-functionally with different teams within Digital Integration and Systems.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting the Regional Procurement Manager in tendering and on-boarding of new suppliers
• Monitor sub-contractor and supplier performance and develop supplier performance initiatives
• Resolution of delivery problems that are escalated and continuously monitor supplier delivery performance
• Communicate with suppliers, the project team, and supply chain team as necessary, ensuring the control of accurate information and systems
• Contribute to maintaining project margin or achieving project savings

Essential Requirements:

• Experience in procurement and supplier management in a project or engineering environment
• Experience using SAP systems and processes
• Good negotiation and communication skills

Desirable:

• CIPS qualification, or working towards this
• Strong commercial awareness
