Missions & Main activities

The role relates to the execution of the Birmingham tramway network extension contract. The aim of this once-renewable five-year contract is to construct 4 km of new line in the coming three years (three extensions) and an additional 15 km in the following five years (two additional lines).

The role of Egis Rail is included in a partnership agreement called "The Midland Metro Alliance" which brings together the Prime Contractor, the Construction Consortium and the Engineering Office.

This exciting role is for an Alignment and Track 3D CAD Technician who is responsible for producing tramway alignment, trackform and tram ducting models and drawings for the MMA network extensions. Models will be produced in 3 dimensions.

The Track and Alignment 3D CAD Technician will work closely with the Track and Alignment Engineers and coordinates the design with all disciplines to deliver an integrated design

The successful candidate will deliver track alignment (horizontal, longitudinal profile and altimetry) and associated grading plus drainage. In addition, you will deliver all aspects of tram ducting design (including alignment and schedule of chambers);

You will have:

• Relevant design experience in railway, tram, metro
• Experience in slab at grade analysis and design calculation
• Experience in alignment design
• Experience in drainage calculation for surface water and discharge
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or PRT
• Bilingual French-English preferred
