Assembly Technician
6 Month Contract – to start immediately
£275 (Umbrella) or £237 (Limited) per day
Based in Weston-Super-Mare
Our client is a well established Nationwide Rail company whose professionalism and well respected name have been instrumental in their success. They provide an exceptional service to their customers and are focused on continually improving this.
Our client is looking for an experienced Assembly Technician from a background in precision engineering, within the rail sector.
You will need:
Essential
- Production – Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical assembly & test of railway points actuation systems
- Precision Engineering- making safety critical / high reliability electro-mechanical equipment
- Production output of Point Operating Equipment (POE) products, in line with Production Schedule
- Assembly of POE (point machines and backdrives) and spares, in accordance with Assembly Instruction Sheet Requirements
- Testing of POE and spares, in accordance with Production Acceptance Schedule (PAS)
- Compile product traceability documentation (Assembly Test Sheets and Build Sheets)
The Role:
To provide day to day monitoring of stock levels. Working in conjunction with the Operations Engineer to ensure all levels are in line with Production Schedule, and any urgent operational railway requirements. You must demonstrate that you are ‘time served’ technicians and able to carry out assembly and test work on your own initiative
- Organisation of assembly and test area, including store locations to ensure all activities are carried out in an efficient and safe manner
- Organisation of tooling and test equipment, including monitoring of calibrated tooling
- Inspection of all equipment during assembly and test phases; ability to make decisions on major and minor quality issues (raise non-conformance report where required)
