Job location: East Midlands
Contract duration: Six Months
Shifts: Days, Afternoons and Nights
Job description
My client requires a number of Rolling Stock Maintenance Technicians to service, repair and maintain Class 170 DMUs. The Rolling Stock Technicians will carry out preventative maintenance and repairs to passenger trains and rolling stock to ensure minimal impact on services.
Please note: these roles require candidates happy to work various shifts including nights
Key Responsibilities:
-To attend to defects on traction and rolling stock, attempt repair and advise operations staff of diagnosis / likely outcome of faults in a timely manner.
-Carry out planned preventative maintenance on rolling stock to laid down specifications.
-Ensure compliance with local, company and industry safety procedures and regulations.
-Sign off on work completed and compile record of work arising.
-Riding trains and units on test runs.
Person Specification
-Time-served tradesperson in electrical or mechanical engineering (minimum level 3)
-Experience of maintaining and repairing rolling stock desirable although other industries will be considered.
-Experience servicing and maintaining Class 170 units would be a major benefit.
-Good communication skills (written and oral).
