Electrical Technician in Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom

Electrical Technician required!

Based with a large rail company in Cardiff - successful applicant MUST be willing to travel as an initial 3-month training period will be based in the North West.
Ongoing contract
40 hours per week, Monday - Friday - NIGHTS ONLY
£23.21 per hour

Qualifications required;
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (ONC/HNC/City & Guilds) or recognised equivalent in Electrical Engineering.

Experience required;
-Experience of working to procedures, work instructions and vehicle maintenance instructions
-Knowledge and practical experience of rolling stock

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

To carry out fault finding and repair of Class 175 repairable items including Battery chargers/ heat exchangers, HVAC units, Comms handsets and other equipment as requested by Materials manager or production manager.

-Repair of Battery charger electronic systems/components.
-Work as directed by and in co-operation with the Production Manager, will comply with:
-All depot protection procedures
-Understand and abide to safety notices, rules and regulations and follow safe working practices, H & S.A.W. and C.O.S.H.H.
-Will adhere to and work within Quality Systems to the current standard.
-Work as part of a team, complete or assist in any of the team's activities to ensure work is completed on time to specification.
-Can accept training in other skills and carry out duties, e.g. forklift, road vehicle driving (if certified), attend call-outs and breakdowns if required.
-Will carry out final work and process inspections as required.
-Will use IT systems that are work related.
-With other team members, will maintain good housekeeping systems of work areas.

Please note our Client operates a strict zero-tolerance Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Policy. Successful candidates will be expected to take a D&A test on their first day.
