Job Title: Electrical Test Technician – Rolling Stock
Location: Northampton

Contract Length: 6-month initial contract
Rates: £30 ph.

This company overs a wide variety of services within the Rail & Rolling Stock industry and plays a vital role in the design, maintenance and repairs of units, carriages and components used daily right across the UK.
The Role
As an Electrical Test Technician, you will be responsible for identifying and rectifying faults within safety critical electrical systems. This will include various motors, door systems, Train Protection & Warning System and CCTV. The Electrical Test Technician will also be required to carry out extensive fault finding. You will have strong electrical skills and a high capacity for problem solving.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced Electrical Test Technician with a proven background in Rolling Stock. You have an extensive work history of fault finding on EMUs/ DMUs and must be competent on Safety Critical systems including brakes, doors, traction, pneumatic, hydraulic and on-board computers and electromechanical systems. You will hold yourself to high standards as a professional engineer and be able to coordinate with various colleagues and internal stakeholders.
The Requirements
A proven background and excellent experience in safety critical rolling stock fault finding, maintenance and repair with a NVQ Level 3 qualification or full apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering. The ideal Electrical Test Technician will also be able to commit to a varying shift pattern that may include days, nights and some weekends.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday (flexibility is required to cover shifts and some weekends)
