Field Technician

Skills:
Essential
• Must be able to drive and hold a valid driving licence.
• Understands and can apply basic electrical principles to faulting activities.
• Proficient in the application and interpretation of Telecom Transmission Systems, specifically on the Connect Network, Systems, architecture and component parts.
• Good technical knowledge of the Connect Tetra Radio Systems, architecture and component parts.
• Good understanding of internet protocol and specifically the Connect IP Multi Services Networks.
• Good technical understanding of Video and specifically of the Connect ATM Video Systems.
• Demonstrates a good understanding and interpretation of the power systems associated with the Connect Network.

Desirable
• The post holder should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels including both written and spoken. .
• A good outward appearance, self?motivation and the ability to work under pressure are vital.

Experience:
Essential
• Demonstrable experience as a 1st line or 2nd Line Technician.
Desirable
• The post holder is likely to have demonstrable experience in Operational Communications and/or points and trackside equipment and/or power systems and/or Signalling Systems.

Qualifications:
Essential
• The post holder must be technically qualified and certified competent to work on all systems within area of expertise.
• The post holder will be responsible for maintaining validity of all safety and access certification. e.g QAF, LUCAS etc.
Desirable
• The post holder will preferably be qualified to HNC level or equivalent and appropriate membership of a recognised engineering institution.
