You will predominantly be working on diesel and electric locomotives carrying out A and B exams.

After a probation period you will have an opportunity to be trained up to work on Freight wagons

Your key responsibilities

  • Mechanical and electrical
  • Repairs
  • Fault Finding
  • Testing carrying out A and B exams

Yourself, what do you need to succeed?

To be considered for this role you must have a high level of knowledge and experience of the mechanical and electrical workings of both Diesel and electric trains specifically pneumatic/hydraulics/diesel and be able to diagnose faults and carry out reactive maintenance.

You will have a high level of scientific understanding of how electricity works and be capable of finding and achieving solutions to problems as they arise, to keep the locomotive fleet moving.

Previous experience in a similar role, testing and fault finding are essential for this role, so experience of pneumatic/hydraulics/diesels and knowledge of safe working practices is a must.

Previous experience of reactive maintenance and diagnosing of faults or potential faults is key to this role.
