Maintenance Technicians (x3)

Location: Leicester, East Midlands

Salary: £42,000 - £46,000 per annum depending on experience

UKRL provides train maintenance to a growing number of customers. A number of positions have arisen for experienced Maintenance Technicians to join our train services team at our Leicester Depot, taking pride in providing a high standard of service and presentation of trains.

Job Description

The Maintenance Technicians report to the Operations Manager and are responsible for carrying out routine fuel point examinations as part of the overnight train servicing and cleaning contracts including:

• Ensuring they carry out their work in a safe and efficient manner
• Ensuring depot protection procedures are followed
• Carrying out fuel point examinations
• Carrying out fault finding and rectification
• Responsible for train preparation and safety critical sign off
• Conducting safe shunting operations in accordance with railway rules and regulations
• Driving railway vehicles within the depot confines in accordance with rules and regulations
• Liaising with customers maintenance control teams

• Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within a team
• Able to remain calm under pressure
• Good numerical and communication skills
• Experience of passenger rolling stock and particularly sprinter based technology an advantage
• Electrical and mechanical fault finding experience on locos, coaching stock and multiple units
• Knowledge of railway operations, standards and procedures
• Previous experience of rail vehicle driving and shunting would be beneficial

You must be physically fit, a medical with drug & alcohol testing forms part of the recruitment process.

Hours

40 hours per week, alternating between one week nights and one week days
