PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- A team player with the ability to work within a team.
- Accountable for the production of CAD drawings as directed and to a good standard of accuracy and within the timescales specified.
- Accountable to the Design Manager for day to day activities.
- To ensure that the best intention and good offices are represented within the local organisation and through client meetings, presentations etc. with the client if required.
- Ensure that the drawings produced follows the best practices of the company in terms of quality and standards compliance as directed.
- To ensure that confidentiality is always maintained.
MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to the Engineering Manager.
- May be required to attend client meetings, presentations and conferences accompanied.
- Ensures that the Design activity follows the best practices of the company in terms of quality and standards compliance.
- To respect the Health & Safety Regulation of work, that relating to Hygiene and staff safety as an employee.
- To take part in the internal meetings (Quality, H&E, Safety, steering and coordination) and every meeting as guest of Management.
- To partake in a culture of design AND build with a delivery orientated approach.
CANDIDATES REQUIREMENTS
For this position, the ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and knowledge:
- Professional education qualifications to HNC/Degree level in an engineering discipline an advantage. Previous experience preferred working within an OLE design environment
- Proven experience of CAD drawing, particularly in Rail Electrification Design Management.
- Working knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes (including AC and/or DC railway electrification systems for Mainline or Underground applications) would be ideal.
- Knowledge of electrified lines desirable.
- Experience and up-to-date knowledge of OHLE Systems and Design Tools.
- Strong communication, organisation, evaluation and decision-making skills.
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) certificate desirable.
- Competent in methodology creation and implementation for CAD use (MicroStation 2D + 3D) and calculations.
