The Role
As a Rolling Stock Technician, you will be working on a variety of fleets performing maintenance, testing and fault finding to identify defects or faults within safety critical systems. This will include all conceivable systems on board modern trains ranging from traction motors, engines, door systems, CCTV, PIS through to Driver Advisory Systems, Train Protection & Warning System, Driver-Only Operated systems and Train Control & Management Systems. Work will include a mixture of both electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair.
The Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced Rolling Stock Technician with extensive work history in fault finding and rectification of fleet defects on either Electrical or Diesel Multiple Units. To be considered for this role, you will have completed projects with a focus on identifying and rectifying faults, removing and repairing Safety Critical components including various hydraulic, pneumatic and electromechanical systems. You will have experience working on brakes, traction, signals, doors and on-board computer systems and hold relevant qualifications to reflect your electrical and mechanical competency.
The Requirements
A proven background in safety critical rolling stock fault finding, maintenance and repair with an HND/HNC engineering qualification or a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. The ideal Rolling Stock Technician will also be able to commit to a varying shift pattern that may include days, nights and some weekends.
Working Hours
Mon-Fri (Varying shifts – flexibility required)
£26 per hour (LTD)
