Senior Highways Technician

We are working with one of the UKs leading construction and infrastructure design consultancys who are searching for a Senior Highways Technician to join their team in Manchester. Due to the upcoming workload, there are a few hires available, so the position is flexible from an experienced graduate through to a Senior Technician with management responsibilities.

In the position, you will be supporting the highways and bridges team in their design of highways and civil structures. Other responsibilities will include:

-          Design Highways (and bridges, if the candidate has the capabilities) in accordance with the clients standards
-          Produce vertical and horizontal highways designs
-          Prepare and check feasibility studies, appraisal reports and other documents
-          Develop engineering solutions and options for a cost-effective project delivery
-          Produce and check preliminary and detailed designs
-          Provide highway design advice and mentor junior colleagues
-          Ensure compliancy with CDM regulations

Ideally, the candidate should have:

-          A relevant civil engineering degree or qualification
-          Previous experience in highway design
-          An awareness of the DMRB
-          Able to proficiently use AutoCAD and Civils 3D
-          Have experience managing workloads of others and developing individual software capabilities.

This is a permanent position with a major civil engineering consultancy who are searching for a Senior Highways Technician to join their team in Manchester. With significant work from home capabilities, this could suit someone in York, Liverpool or the outskirts of Leeds.
